Is Ayahuasca good or bad for you?
And here's the first question!
Ayahuasca is a psychedelic brew. As such, it affects all senses and alters thinking and perception. Any stimulant/substance that alters your state of consciousness throws your energy out of balance. It’s a road to nowhere… most of the time. It won’t lead to growth - on the contrary, it will drain your tapas. It's like "stealing a sneak peek" before you are allowed to see the show. If you can't yet reach subtle realms in your meditation, it means the doors are closed for you at the moment; and prying them open with the help of a "crowbar" in the form of a consciousness-bending tool is not a good idea in the long run. There is a lot more to it if we were to go deeper, but I think this works as an explanation.
It's far better to practice yoga and meditation, do inner work, and not rely on such substances.
What's your take on it? What other examples of consciousness-altering substances can you come up with?
